Dr. Pietro Bortoletto, FCS Class of 2007, recently contacted FCS to touch base with his high school. We are proud of Dr. Bortoletto’s accomplishments and appreciate his comments regarding the influence FCS had on him.
Dr. Bortoletto first came to FCS in the 7th grade. While at FCS he was involved in student government, band, and varsity athletics. With the encouragement and support of FCS staff, he was accepted to the University of Miami with a full scholarship. While at UM, he studied Neuroscience and Linguistic Anthropology in addition to minoring in Chemistry. His time at UM was also taken up by various extra-curricular pursuits including being the founding President of the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity, serving as Vice-President of the Student Government, and coordinating the Clinton Global Initiative University 2011 Meeting. During his time at UM he was honored to have received the key to the city of Coral Gables by Mayor Don Slesnick for his work in improving the UM-City Beautiful relationship.
Upon graduating from the University of Miami, Dr. Bortoletto attended the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, IL. In addition participating in research, mentorship, and student government, he worked part-time at the Chicago Department of Public Health over the first 2 years of medical school. Upon graduating, Dr. Bortoletto was selected to join a class of 11 residents at the Harvard Medical School’s Integrated Obstetrics and Gynecology residency program in Boston, MA. In Boston, he works at the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham and Women’s Hospital delivering care to women and participating in clinical research. He hopes to pursue a fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility and focus his energies on reproductive rights and health care policy. Dr. Bortoletto believes that access to women’s healthcare services and autonomy in medical decision making are of upmost importance.
