FCS FAQ CORONA VIRUS
How long will school be out?
We are taking all precautionary measures to assure the safety and security of our students, faculty, and families during this time. We will be monitoring the recommendations made by the US Department of Health and state/local officials. We will announce school re-opening through Renweb email, Parent Alert text, and all of our social media platforms @fcspatriots. Please make sure to stay connected by frequently checking your email for the most up-to-date information. If you are not receiving emails, first check your spam/junk folder and then please check your Renweb account to make sure we have your most current email.
Is spring break still scheduled as usual?
Yes, it will be treated as a normal school holiday. No additional assignments will be given or expected to be completed during this time with the exception of any previously assigned projects/reports.
What is happening with extra curriculars, trips, athletics, and other events?
Beginning Monday, March 16 all extracurricular activities, including athletic team practices and field trips will be suspended until further notice. For upcoming, previously scheduled events, stay connected by frequently checking your email and social media platforms for the most up-to-date information.
What is happening with college board tests, AP exams, and SAT testing?
All elementary and middle school SAT testing will be postponed until further notice. For the latest updates on College Board/ACT testing, please visit either CollegeBoard.org or ACT.org. FCS has no control over College Board and ACT decisions, as they are third-party, independent organizations.
Will the campus be open to retrieve textbooks or items from my students’ locker?
The campus will be open next week March 16-20 from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. for students to be able to retrieve any books or items from their lockers. The athletic/PE locker rooms will remain closed until further notice.
What if I don’t have Wi-Fi or computer access?
Renweb, Nearpod, and Google Classroom all have mobile apps available for all smartphones and devices. For access to free Wi-Fi, please consider visiting locations such as Starbucks, McDonald’s, public parks, etc.
What is expected of my child during this break?
The purpose of school closure is to provide students and FCS families with an opportunity to still learn and engage in educational activities/assignments while maintaining a level of safety. Please consider staying away from all events or locations where there will be an abundance of people.
All FCS students are expected to check Renweb daily for up-to-date teacher announcements and assignments. Students are expected to complete all assignments by the designated due date set by the classroom/subject teacher.
