FCS is proud to announce that Elizabeth Arnold, FCS Class of 2008, has been awarded Nurse of the Year of the ICU and Critical Care Units at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
Elizabeth, a Registered Nurse, received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She is currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Nursing program at George Washington University with a focus on Community & Public Health Nursing.
Elizabeth shared how FCS impacted her, “I went to FCS my entire life, I grew up in the hallways and everyone there was like a second family. It was the true foundation of who I am academically and spiritually. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the teachers and peers at FCS”.
Elizabeth’s supervisors gave the following comments at the award ceremony held earlier this week: “Elizabeth came to work in the Surgical Intensive Care Unit three years ago. She quickly blossomed into a very competent ICU nurse. She demonstrates dedication to her patients and colleagues by arriving early to work and assisting as much as possible. She travels with the JHS Rapid Respond Team to learn about that particular nursing role and has completed open heart/cardiac training and related competencies, allowing her to care for these types of patients despite being relatively new to the division. She is frequently commended by patients, families, physicians and co-workers for doing an exceptional job. She is extremely professional, compassionate, and supportive of the team, and has a smile for everyone.”
FCS congratulates Elizabeth Arnold on her many accomplishments! May God bless you as you continue to minister to your patients!
